Midwives and Nurses

Once again we are reminded of the importance of our frontline health professionals as the Covid pandemic dominates the daily news. Did you have an ancestor or relative who was a nurse or midwife in Victoria?

One of the ‘Aims & Purposes’ of VAFHO (Victorian Association of Family History Organisations Inc) is: To promote and arrange easier public access to public records and record repositories throughout Victoria a wide range of interesting material for the dedicated researcher to investigate.

The Midwives and Nurses published in the Victorian Government Gazettes were cumbersome to find and search but through the work of dedicated volunteers the association has provided PDFs to facilitate access to these records.
