Five years have passed quickly!
Yes it is already five years since the Cooroy Noosa Genealogical & Historical Group moved into our new purpose built premises at 17 Emerald St in Cooroy. Thanks to the tremendous fund-raising efforts of the group throughout the previous years we are now able to enjoy this great facility.
On Saturday 12 February we celebrated 5 years in the building with an afternoon tea and ceremonial cutting of the 5 year cake at the conclusion of the general meeting.
Key personnel who were involved in fundraising and the move are seen here cutting the cake,
Julie, Win, the Warners and John |
Members reminisced about the effort involved in the move and many of the subsequent sessions that have been held in the centre.
Our building is open on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays from 9.30 am to 1 pm. Research assistants are on hand on each of those days to assist with family history research. We also have research assistants who specialise in local area research.
In addition to the 3 days a week opening to the public several special interest groups limited to members meet once a month. Join us for only $45 to experience the expert help available through the Scottish group, Irish Group or the Writing Group.
Additional benefits include attendance at special presentations such as the upcoming session to be presented by Greg Hallam of the Australian Railway Historical Society - Queensland Division.
Our group is a friendly vibrant group with access to the latest technology and a range of historical databases. We hope to have you visit us soon.
